We finally got the sailling boat!

There was lots of activity these past few weeks while we tried to collect the last of the money Sean needed to buy his sailing boat. He finally had his Easter Monday swim where he raised money for treading water for two hours. Friends and family arrived to support him while Aura played his favourite music and encouraged him over the loud speaker. We had laminated posters to hold up and encourage him every half hour or so and some of the spectators read him a few jokes to pass the time.

Full marks to Niall for joining him in the pool.

A very kind young man from a garden centre gave Sean hundreds of ceramic flower pots to sell to raise money for his boat so we made quite a few euros selling most of them at the very keen price of €1 each. They sold like hot potatoes!
We had a couple of sails along the beach front in Blackrock.
And this was 'the last' yard sale, phew!
Home at last with the boat.
Some of his school friends and some others came along to the launch last Saturday to encourage him. Some family members came too as it was a bit sentimental seeing as my dad launched some of his boats here as did one of my brothers, so Sean is the third generation to keep up with the family tradition.
There is a small wheel on the front which is helpful.
Yea!!!!!!!!! After almost 16 months raising €1,500 he finally did it!
Many thanks to family, church family, friends, neighbours and everybody else who have supported Sean. May God bless you for your kindness.

Thanks Annie, It is currently in the back garden but we hope to have it in the marina during the summer months... well, hopefully.

Cool, is there a fee for that?

We are looking into it. Not sure exactly. It would be e=very handy to have the boat there instead of lugging it around every time Sean want's to go sailing.
