Saving on shopping

A couple of days ago when my son was staying two nights with his granny and I had extra time on my hands, I went into town and checked out a couple of shops at my leisure. In Tesco's they have a place where they sell stuff on discount because they are coming to the end of their sell-by date. I bought some goods and decided to copy Cassie at Home Schooling Four and blog about it... So if you have time and you want some tips on wise shopping, drop by Cassie's blog and have a look, and by the way, wish her a Happy Birthday!

BBQ Chicken wings €2.99...............€0.69
French bread €1.00...............€0.40
Sweet corn €1.69................€0.34
Strawberries €2.99.............€1.79
10 small yoghurt drinks €3.99...............€0.80
4 pears €2.99................€0.60
2 packs of mushrooms €1.39..............€0.28
BBQ chicken wings €2.99.............€1.79
Pizza €6.99............€1.40
Onion rings €4.99..............€0.94
3 Disney shepherd pies €2.99............€0.60
Fajita strips €2.81............€1.40
Bacon €7.98............€3.99
Fine beans €1.69...............€0.85
Apples €0.89..............€0.67

The total price of all the food would have been €51.27 but I only paid €15.85!

Later, Niall phoned me to say that his shoes had split on him and he needed a new pair so we met up and went to Clarks and got him a leather pair in the shop that were down from €75 to €35... While there I picked up a pair of runners for Seán that were down from €42 to €18....

A month ago I spent €54 on a similar pair for him...

When all is said and done, I would like to know, who would pay €6.99 for a pizza you have to take home and cook!
Best buy??? The bacon. It is very expensive here...
